Going Rogue ;)

Well I don't need to talk about our week in blogland, it was a tough one. The main thing now is our little Emily is much better than she was a week ago, as we continue our prayers for her.

Last night let's just say I was ready to relax with my husband and have some fun. Brice likes to have a good time, but sometimes he is a little more serious than me.

After a glass (or two;)) of wine I was, I guess what you might call, poking the bear. Just picking at him and he was wanting to watch a movie....DETERMINED for us to watch a movie......together.

He said something to me kind of bossy(ish) and I didn't like it, so I turned to him and announced......

I am about to go Rogue on you!
(If you don't know who Rogue is, forgive me, this post won't make a bit of sense)

Then I proceeded to laugh until I cried, while he sat there looking at me like I was much weirder than he thought I was.

I was so amused with myself I had to share my humor with someone and the lucky winner last night was Rogue herself. I emailed her what I said to Brice along with another email congratulating her on becoming a household name, just like Kleenex ;)

Rogue was kind enough to email me back and feed my ego more by telling me she got a laugh out of it too.

After I was done entertaining myself ;) Brice asked me if I knew what 'going rogue' meant? Hahahaha.....my response was.....Yes, but do you? Then proceeded to burst out laughing again.

I eventually explained to him who Rogue was and what was so funny. His very dry response was something to the effect of.....

It's not going to happen so can we please watch this movie now?

A girl can dream right? ;)

  1. I nearly died laughing reading this. Then Ryan wanted to know what I was laughing at. So....I read it to him...and he sat there much like Brice wondering *what* was so funny. When I told him what going "Rogue" meant he looked at me and said, "You just try to go Rogue and I will buy you a standing room only ticket for life".

Apparently he and Brice have the same...very dry...sense of humor! So darn funny...okay I am off to wipe my eyes...again ;)

    Love ya....

    1. I think you should pass on the standing room ticket for life....I prefer section with padded chairs lol.

You are right about the dry sense of humor. I think the fact he doesn't laugh at all...makes me laugh harder most of the time. ;)

  2. Betsy, I just want to say thanks for the only laugh I had all week. Jared had taken me out to get away from it all, and I was literally rolling right there in the car! I giggled all the way home while he rolled his eyes. I do think he was pleased to see me smiling though.
Glad you didn't get in trouble over it. Call me sometime and we will have a glass of wine together. ;)

    1. Rogue, you made it much more fun by laughing with me.

He knew I was playing, so he wasn't angry....just ready to watch the movie lol.

We will wait for better news on Emily, then definitely have a 'Wine Thirty' on the phone;)

  9. I am so glad you immediately told Rogue about this. She can use the giggles.

I laughed and laughed...at your expense. lol

I tried this too and was greeted with two raised eyebrows until I explained. I too am forbidden to go rogue. It's a tragedy of epic personal proportions.

    1. Yes, 'epic personal proportions' that is exactly what I thought lol.

And we all know...two raised eyebrows is a lot worse than one...but it was worth a try. ;)

  10. Oh I tell Barney all the time I am going to go Rogue on him! Katie even sent me this very little wooden spoon ( with friends like Katie, who needs enemies) and I smack him with it all the time. He says, " Just what do you think you are doing"

    " Pulling a Rogue"

" Well don't do that again"

    "Okay"

    SMACK!

Ahhhhhhhhhh, thank God for Rogue ( oh and you too Jared). She keeps me going some days just thinking of it.

YOU just keep me going every day Betsy!
    love ya,
    willie!

    PS. I can just SEE Brice's face...bwahahahaha!

    1. Okay now, even I didn't actually try it...I just said I was lol. I KNOW I would have regretted that move. Boy oh boy how I enjoy thinking about it. ;)

His face was....Serious and a tad annoyed Brice ;)

      Love ya back!

  13. I love the term and the sentiment! I've gone Rogue on my husband a time or two but certainly only in fun playful times. Should he do something to annoy me I don't think it would be an option!

    1. YES she IS a household name!
Before this, my youngest had a dog collar and leash attached to her little friend that is a boy. I thought it was hilarious and sent a pic to a blog friend and she said then I was raising a little 'Rogue' lol.

  15. Hi I know I am a bit late here but I say this all the time and I beg and plead for a turn with the paddle, saying ( whining) Rogue gets a turn. Hubby says not in this house. Like you I can only dream.
    love Jan.xx
